About Dr Shaukat

A consultant who takes the time to listen.

I'm Dr Syed Shaukat — a Consultant Gastroenterologist with over thirteen years' NHS and independent experience. My job is to help people with bowel, digestive and stomach problems that are often painful, sometimes embarrassing, and almost always worrying.

I lead Endoscopy Services in a large NHS hospital and am an accredited bowel cancer screening specialist. In my private clinics I take the time to listen properly, explain findings in plain English, and recommend only the tests and treatments you actually need.

Every case is handled confidentially and without judgement.

  1. Listen. A full clinical history, not a five-minute slot.
  2. Investigate. Targeted tests — only what is clinically indicated.
  3. Explain. Findings and options in plain English.
  4. Plan. Treatment or onward care, with a written summary for you and your GP.
